In honor of World Book Day earlier this week, artist Raul Lemesoff worked with soda company 7 UP to make a “Weapon of Mass Instruction”, a drivable library to battle ignorance and spread knowledge.
The artist, based in Buenos Aires, Venezuela, converted a 1979 Ford Falcon into a tank-like vehicle, complete with an upper chamber and non-functioning gun. The book-tank features enough shelf space for 900 books, from novels to poetry. Lemesoff drives in his new hot wheels giving out free books to anyone who wants one, as long as they promise to read it.
“My missions are very dangerous,” the artist explained. “I attack people in a very nice and fun way.” Lemesoff’s target was the young generation so he drove to schools and parks, encouraging the young to read, and use their imaginations.
