Use an old toothbrush to remove dirt from speaker mesh on earbuds.
Dip a cotton swab into alcohol to remove wax and to sanitize it, especially after someone else uses it.
Empty Q-tip cases make excellent travel cases for your earbuds, instead of getting tangled up in your bag.
An interdental brush which is readily available at the pharmacy is great to clean headphone jacks.
I don’t know about you, but my keyboard gets cookies, pretzels, chips and a lot of other particles stuck in between the keys. A large make up brush is perfect for cleaning up all that mess.
For all the grime on the keys, tape works like a charm.
And for all the “gunk” that accumulates over time, alcohol and a swab will clean it right up.
Lint rollers aren’t just for your clothes, they work great on speakers too.
A small sized paintbrush works well to clean a phone or tablet built-in speaker. Sound quality might improve too afterwards.
Use a clean rag, water, and dish soap to remove grime that builds up on cables.
Coffee filters make really good LCD screen dusters. Microfiber cloth also works well, but please don’t use paper towels.
Make your own homemade cleaner: 1 part vinegar or 1 part alcohol with 1 part distilled water to clean really dirty screens. Don’t apply directly to the screen, spray on a cloth and clean. This solution won’t leave streaks behind, and fingerprints will come right off your display.
I’m sure scrolling through these tricks of the trade has taught you something new. Keeping these items clean will extend their lifespan and save you money in the long run. The best part of all of this is that you don’t have to buy expensive cleaner, you can do it with things around the house. What are you waiting for? Grab those earbuds and get to it!
