Balloons signify celebration. They add color to a room and can create an atmosphere of festivity. The latest twist with balloons is to add small LED lights to each to that it lights up the balloon causing a glowing effect. Imagine how cool glowing balloons will look at birthday parties, cocktail parties, Halloween parties, and more.
This DIY project will have your guests ooh-ing and aah-ing at your next party. Balloons are a must have for any celebration and when you pair them up with LED lights it becomes awesome. You can either make your own DIY LED lights or just go to your nearest dollar shop and buy LED keychains.
So let’s give you all an easy, 2 step tutorial on how to make your party rocking.
Materials you’ll need:
-LED lights (DIY or purchase a dollar store keychain)
Step 1: LED’s
This part can be as simple or as complicated as you desire. Either make your own LED lights or get store bought ones. If you choose to craft your own, you’ll need 5-10 small LED’s, 5-10 3 volt batteries, tape. Place the “legs” of an LED on either side of the battery. It should light up right away. Tape the LED to the battery to secure it in place. Repeat until all your LED’s are lit. If you buy LED keychains then you don’t have anything else to do. If you use a keychain light, make sure that it uses an LED and not a small light bulb as this will heat up.
Step 2: Balloons
If you plan to blow your balloons up with helium, turn on an LED light and insert it into the balloon before you fill it up. Scatter the balloons around the room and watch as your glowing balloons light up the scene. The life of any give LED will vary, but expect your LED balloons to last at least 24-48 hours. If your LED’s are still glowing by the end of the party, pop the balloons, remove the LED’s, turn them off and save them for your next celebration.
