Take control of your memory. Whether it’s your phone, tablet, or camera, you always need more storage space, you’re constantly deleting unwanted pictures and videos. Well you don’t need to do that anymore with SanDisk’s new, highest capacity SD card available to consumers, a huge 512GB.
It’s called SanDisk’s new Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-1 memory card and its’ size is mainly aimed to be used by pro-level photographers and videographers who want to shoot in 4K definition. The company sure has come a long way since 2003, when they released their first SD card which had 512MB space. This year has been quite productive for SanDisk giving consumers the best in storage space with the world’s largest microSD card, with 128GB of storage in its tiny 15mm by11mm body, and the latest 512GB SD card. SanDisk is proud to say that they have increased SD storage 1,000 times in just over a decade.
The new 512 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-1 card offers incredible speed and capacity. The storage capacity can be translated in easier terms by saying it can hold nearly 800 music albums in MP3 format or more than 150 movies, and we thought 128 GB seemed like an enormous storage space. The new 512GB card is aimed at 4K content. It offers both the speed and capacity needed to support 4K Ultra HD video capture, which you can watch on a 4K TV. Other key features include its build quality, which has been tested against harsh conditions to protect it against extreme weather conditions, water, shocks, and X-rays. Sandisk also backs it with a lifetime limited warranty and the RescuePRO Deluxe data recovery software which helps restore accidentally-deleted images.
The luxury of extra storage doesn’t come cheap, however. SanDisk has priced the 512GB SD card at US $799. It could be priced slightly lower when available via retailers and online stores. If this card is bit too heavy on your pocket, SanDisk has also announced some alternatives in the same product line including the 128GB card for a$190 and the 256 version for $360.
