Peter Capaldi, Relatively unknown to the people outside of UK, is famous for his portrayal of a foul-mouthed role as Malcolm Tucker, a political “enforcer” in the television show  The Thick of It and its movie spin-off In the Loop. He is a life-long fan of the show and as a teenager wrote a letter about Daleks to the magazine Radio Times . Capaldi has previously had a role in Dr Who as a merchant who lived in the town of Pompeii at the time Vesuvius erupted. In the storyline, the merchant and his family are saved when the Doctor takes them to Rome in the doctor’s time machine, the TARDIS.

The ‘Doctor who’ show been running for 50 years(1963–84, 1986–89, 1985, 2005–present),and has seen 11 reincarnations of the Doctor with the latest being Matt Smith.

From Left to Right William Hartnell, Christopher Eccleston, Sylvester McCoy, Peter Davison, Jon Pertwee, Matt Smith, David Tennant, Paul McGann, Tom Baker, Patrick Troughton, Colin Baker.

We Will Update this Article, with all the relevant Information about the new Doctor, as soon as he is revealed. So stay tuned.

Finally the announcement the ‘Doctor Who’ Fandom was waiting for has been made, Peter Capaldi is in fact the 12th Doctor.

The Old replaces the New.

As always, whenever the new Doctor is revealed the Fandom are divided, half of them like him, half don’t. But eventually everyone settles down, and loves him. As it is famous “In Moffat we Trust”.

Now the Interesting part story wise of this will be why the doctor regenerates? and what effect it has to the relationship he has with the current companion Clara Oswald.

Will the regeneration affect the relationship B/W the Companion and the Doctor?

As those who have seen the episodes of “Doctor Who’, might have noticed a hint of flirtation going on between the Doctor and Clara, and overall Clara seem to take the doctor as someone who she can communicate with freely as he seems so young, and energetic. But what effect meeting the previous (and By-far my personal favorite) Incarnation of the Doctor, David Tennant(Which she will in the Christmas Special) will have on her and seeing the regeneration of the Doctor?

As Fans will remember Billie Piper, or Rose tyler as we remember her, was unsettled the first time she saw the Doctor regenerate from the 10th to the 11th, and even left the T.A.R.D.I.S. She eventually understood the necessity of regenerating and came back. But we have to remember that the 11th Doctor was

Who wouldn’t wanna be stuck in Telephone Booth with him?

This GUY! Not that it matters but one has to think it was a influence on Rose’s decision. Now that the Doctor may not look so, “Young” and “Energetic” after this regeneration, the chemistry will infact change between the companion and the Doctor. Many fans are hoping that it will go back to the old days when the Doctor and the companion had a Equal/Friendship kind of relationship.

“Bad” Wolf

But in the End it is all in the hands of the writers, who upto this point have been up to the mark. Even if the last season was a little shaky, it was still a treat to watch. I will again reiterate the words “In Moffat we Trust”

Doctor Who returns Tuesday, December 25, 9:00pm ET for the 2012 Doctor Who Christmas Special
