2. Pablo Escobar
Undoubtedly, Pablo is one of the most notorious drug lords of our era. Under his command the Medellin Cartel managed to bring billions worth of cocaine into the U.S. Using the money he earned, he bribed off judges and police to gain power and killed anyone who refused to take bribe. In 1993, Escobar was killed by Colombian forces with US assistance, after he had escaped from a Colombian prison.

1. Amado Carrillo Fuentes
Fuentes was known as “Lord of the skies” because he owned around 22 planes, which also included a 727 jet airliner. He used these planes to import cocaine into U.S and made billions doing so. He was the head of the Mexican Juarez Cartel. DEA labeled him the most powerful drug trafficker of his era. He died while undergoing plastic surgery to alter his appearance in 1997.
